ACO is currently seeking applications for two board member positions
NEWS DESCRIPTION:Volunteer Board Executive Committee Member
Architectural Conservancy Ontario Board of Directors comprises leaders from the not-for-profit and for-profit sector who are dedicated to the organization's mission of encouraging the conservation and reuse of structures, districts and landscapes of architectural, historic and cultural significance.
Serving on ACO's Board is a great opportunity for an individual who is passionate about strengthening leadership and governance in the not-for-profit sector.
We are looking for people with skills or experience in marketing and communications, heritage conservation and land use planning at the municipal or provincial level, and/or non-profit organizations. We are especially interested in people from BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Colour) communities.
The ACO Board consists of an 11-member Executive Committee elected by ACO members at their Annual General meeting and 16 ex officio directors appointed by ACO's local branches. Board meetings are hybrid, physically based in Toronto or branch locations across Ontario with the option of online or telephone participation.
The full board meets four times a year; Executive Committee has four additional meetings. Participation can be in person, often at our Toronto office, or virtual.
Board Executive Committee members are expected to:
Board terms last for two years and board members can serve for up to three consecutive terms.
