Interventions to Protect
Fugitive Slave Chapel, 1848
ACO London Region supports the Fugitive Slave Chapel Preservation Project, which prevented demolition in 2013 and resulted in removal of the chapel from Thames Street to 432 Grey Street in 2014.
Conservation will be funded by a “2c Worth” campaign for conservation, which requests of donors 15-minute’s worth of their income (which was 2c for an unskilled labourer, in 1848, when the chapel was built.)
